Florida

Darin and I took a trip to Florida in September. He was attending a conference there but we were also celebrating my 40th birthday and our upcoming 20th anniversary. We stayed at an amazing place in Palm Beach....The Breakers. Everything about the place was elegant and beautiful. We had a very nice room with a bathroom twice the size of mine at home. Darin had to get up early each morning for classes. Meanwhile I was able to sleep in, read, & hang out by the pool. It was a very relaxing vacation for me.
View of the courtyard from our room.
Lucious, tropical grounds.
The ocean water was 86 degrees and the breeze coming off of the ocean was so refreshing.

Entrance to The Breakers
The Breakers was built in the early 1800s and the lobby area is still the original building. The detail work was amazing.
For the second part of our trip, we drove to Orlando and stayed at Loew's Portofino at Universal Studios. It was also a beautiful hotel. We felt like we were in Italy.
We spent two days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I loved The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! So well done! I just felt bad that our kids weren't there to share it with us.
